Hello Everyone!

Chirstmas and New Years was good, hope you all had a good time. quick update:

finished first year of uni and enjoyed myself a nd im happy with my marks, however, the break has been good and im really enjoying the sleep ins and the no assessments!

got myself a temporary admin job till uni starts again. 2 days a week. its been good, learning a lot, meeting good people, earnings are good too

been doing some volunteering at a youth centre and that has been good as well. its been good to be around teenagers so i can get some experience and skills with working with young people, and the other workers there are lovely

been keeping myself busy with movies, books, hanging out or sleeping in. the usual holiday stuff. now for the tagging

lovely :iconketmara: tagged me and so here are my (not so) interesting facts about me:
Rules:
1. post these rules
2. each person tagged must post 8 random (hopefully interesting) facts about themselves
3. tags should write a journal of these facts
4. at the end of the post 8 more bloggers are tagged and named.
5. go to their page and leave a comment telling them that they're tagged

:star: I want to be a drama therapist for young people when I finish uni. I’m starting to realise my dreams of becoming a world famous actress won’t come true :P so using drama as a means to help people is my backup

:star: I’ve been to beginner lap dance and burlesque dance classes ;) heehee (I still hold dreams of being a belly dancer and a burlesque artist for a career should social work fail)

:star:I’m reading the last book of the Tomorrow Series by John Marsden. I’m re-reading the series. It’s called the Other Side of Dawn. Absolutely fantastic series of books, set in Australia with a powerful and engrossing story! Do yourself a favour and read them

:star:The last 3 movies I’ve seen at the cinemas: American Gangster, I Am Legend, PS I Love You

:star: When I'm off to work, I have strawberry milkshakes of a morning and I have them so regularly that the lady who serves me says 'the usual?'. I find that pretty cool!

:star: I fear, hate and despise cockroaches. They should all die.

:star: I got to write a research essay on vampires (as a metaphor for an aspect of humanity) for my university media subject! As someone who enjoys vampires, that was rather cool to do

:star: I have a love affair with two literary men: Mr Thornton (North & South by Elizabeth Gaskell) and Mr Rochester (Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte). Read the books, but if you don’t have the patience to read the books, go watch the movies. Richard Armitage playing Mr Thornton and Toby Stephens playing Mr Rochester are swoon worthy :D

anywhoo, i'm not gonna tag but i invite anyone to entertain me with 8 facts about themselves
hope you've all been well, bring on 2008!
xoxo

Hey Everyone!
in celebration of my bday which was on the 3rd, im now 19 years young woo!, i went to a show called 'Good Drugs Bad Women'
it was a burlesque show at the Metro Theatre in Sydney and it was fantastic!
2 acts from the US:
Angie Pontani from the World Famous Pontani Sisters and Amber Marie- a pretty pin up lady. both were fantastic, really putting the tease back into strip tease and they were just gorgeous- corsets and garters aplenty!

there was also a group called Belladonnas De Lux- a sydney based burlesque trio and they were great- very entertaining and sexy

a hula hoop extrordinaire, this woman did fantastic things with hula hoops- made me envious

there was a dancing midget, thats not really the nicest word to say so ill say little person called Divine Miss M, and she was gorgeous! she did a shirley temple act followed by a cool hip hop routine! and she tap danced, she was great

there were 2 burlesquey hip hop dancers, called Monkey Brigade, they were fun to watch, great at what they do

a great blues rock n roll band called the Snowdroppers

a great dancer called Kelly Doll who dressed as a saloon girl and could swing dance and do fantastic things.

the whole show was just awesome, full of everything burlesque, impressive acts and fantastic music

Good Drugs Bad Women plays again in Melbourne on the 14th at the Hi Fi Bar, i suggest you go if you can!

Hi everyone!
ive been slack on the updates haven't i! firstly, i still visit DA all the time so i havent dropped off the earth, and i try to comment when i can when im not busy with uni
updates on my life in no particular order:

- during my mid year break, I saw *Geoffrey Rush* perform in a play called Exit The King at the Belvoir Theatre in Sydney, yes Mr Rush himself! he is god! he is a master at his craft and he was worth every cent of my ticket!

-I started my second semester of uni. im still continuing with my social work/arts degree and im liking all of my subjects, though im not liking the assessments i have due soon

- i have just wrapped up being in a show myself. i was in a short play, in this production called SPASMS at uni, which is a collection of short plays. i auditioned for it and got a part! it was awesome, i learnt so much about what goes into running a show. it went for 5 nights, it was fun getting back into drama/acting/performing! it also helped me work on my self doubt about performing. having a live audience was fun, hanging out with crazy theatre people was super fun (the afterparty with the cast and crew was madness!) i had the biggest buzz after each show, beats any drug out there haha this is what i hoped uni was going to be like :D

thats what i can think of right now. if i remember more, ill add it in
i hope you are all well!
thanks for reading
xoxo
